Indian School marks Punjabi Divas

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Punjabi Language Department celebrated Punjabi Divas 2018 on Monday.  

The programme was inaugurated by Chief Guest community leader Kamaljit Chauhan and K.E Kanoo Vice President K.N Singh in the presence of ISB EC Member Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Principal VR Palaniswamy, vice-principals and staff. 

In his speech, Kamaljit Chauhan highlighted the contribution of Punjab and Punjabi Language in different fields of India. He appreciated the efforts rendered by the students and teachers to make Punjabi Day programme a
success. 

The Guest of Honour K.N. Singh wished all the students and the audience the very best of the Punjabi Day.   EC Member Khursheed Alam wished all the students and explained the literary contribution of Punjabi Language. 

The programme started with the National Anthem of Bahrain and India and school prayer followed by the recitation from Qur’an and Guru Granth Sahib. Prayer of Shabad was performed by the students followed by the lighting of Lamp.  Punjabi Teacher   Rewa Rani welcomed the gathering.  

Trophies and certificates were awarded to all winners of different competitions. This was the grand finale of the week-long celebrations when many competitions were organised for the Punjabi Third Language students. The main competitions were in Hand Writing, picture composition and poem recitation.
