Dog attacks expat worker, injured

ManamaA man was injured after he was attacked by what he described a ‘large aggressive dog’ in Salmaniya yesterday.  Mohammed Shorab, a Bangladeshi national, had to get treatment after he was inflicted with a terrible bite wound. The incident took place in the morning yesterday. Shorab, a delivery man, was returning after delivering a package and as he was about to enter his car, the dog bit his leg.

“It bit my leg and I felt like a strong bite with full force and it was obviously very painful to me. I had to call a driver to take me to a hospital,” he said.

“Thankfully, it only bit me in one place which is my right leg and I escaped after that. I was bleeding from my leg and it didn’t look good at all. Thankfully, a driver was able to pick me and drop me to the hospital where I received treatment. The doctors at Salmaniya Medical Complex examined the wound and stitched it up.”

“I also received an injection in my arm to prevent infections. I am fine now and it does not hurt much anymore,” he said.

“I have no idea why the dog attacked me. I did not even see the dog until after it attacked me, it came out of nowhere. I had already delivered the food to the customer and I was empty handed when I was attacked, so it was not because of the food,” he added.
