Crown Prince urges to boost regional security

Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday called for joint action to enhance the security and stability of the region in order to face current challenges and support the essential work being undertaken by the GCC.

This came as the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister received Shaikh Nasser Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the State of Kuwait at Gudaibiya Palace. 

During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince went on to stress the importance of deepening cooperation through strengthening  strategic relations framework in order to meet the aspirations of the peoples of both countries.

Prince Salman highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Bahrain and Kuwait, and the support these relations receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait. 

HRH the Crown Prince then asked the Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister to extend his best wishes to Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait and Shaikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, and wished Kuwait further prosperity and development.

During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince and Shaikh Nasser Al-Sabah reviewed issues of mutual interest, prospects for deeper cooperation between Bahrain and Kuwait, and exchanged views on current events regionally and internationally.

The Crown Prince held a dinner banquet in honour of Shaikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. 

Earlier in the day, the Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister was received at the Bahrain International Airport by HRH Prince Salman 

His Excellency Shaikh Nasser is visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain following an official invitation by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. 

Opens SEARCH

Separately, on the same day, Prince Salman along with Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister attended the inauguration of SEARCH, a new facility established for Culture and Research. 

Supported by the Emir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, SEARCH is a new state-of-the-art research facility located in Muharraq, dedicated to Bahraini and Arabic literature, poetry, culture and history. 

HRH the Crown Prince expressed his pleasure at the opening of SEARCH, noting that the new facility “will make a significant contribution to the academic research of Arabic and Bahraini literature, poetry, culture and history.”

Following a tour of the research centre and two related projects, Memory of the House and Dar Al Fan, HRH the Crown Prince and HH the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait then attended a ceremony to mark the official opening of SEARCH.
