Construction of Medical City to begin in 2018

ManamaConstruction works at King Abdulla Bin Abdulaziz Medical City will begin in the first few months of 2018, officials in charge of the project confirmed yesterday.

While speaking during the second edition of the Gulf Medical Expo, Arabian Gulf University Deputy President Khalid Tabbara confirmed that the city will include 300 beds, research centres, conferences centre and employees and students’ homes.

As reported yesterday, the Gulf Medical Expo is patronised and inaugurated by the Supreme Health Council Chairman Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on Tuesday.

Supported by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and Health Ministry, the exhibition is organised by Ajyal Consultancy, in cooperation with New Line Organising for Exhibitions and Conferences at Bahrain International Exhibitions and Conventions Centre and concludes today.

In the expo, Lt. Gen. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed was briefed about the project and the progress of work by Tabbara, who confirmed that the preliminary stages of the project are ongoing.

The second edition of the expo provides the largest forum for medical practitioners to learn about the latest technologies and assistive tools to help creativity and production in the field of medicine, with the participation of more than 100 medical institutions in Bahrain and abroad.
