Froome models new Team Sky kit for 2018

London : Team Sky have unveiled their new kit ahead of next season which sees them moving away from a black jersey for the first time in their history.

Sky riders Chris Froome and Michal Kwiatkowski modelled the new jersey and bottoms in a photo shoot on Monday morning at the kit’s launch.

The new design, which has been produced by Team Sky’s Performance Clothing Partner Castelli, has drawn inspiration from the white and blue jersey that the team used at the 2017 Tour de France.

Team Sky were eager to move in a new direction with the design but wanted it to retain certain distinguishing features so their riders could remain recognisable in the peloton.

And so the line of the back of the jersey, which has been a feature of every Team Sky kit since their inception back in 2010, remains an integral part to the design.

The dashed ‘data pattern’ - which records every one of their victories - has also been updated to include the teams wins from this year.

Castelli, who have produced Team Sky’s kit for the second year in a row, have also reintroduced the broad blue band across the middle of the jersey, which has been influenced from the team’s original 2010 kit.
