Court orders to detain Bahraini man for assaulting
Manama : The Public Prosecution on Sunday ordered to detain a Bahraini man for seven days who assaulted his wife unconscious on Thursday, while further investigations are being continued, DT News has learnt. The man was arrested by Samaheej Police Station on Thursday and was interrogated by the prosecution on Sunday.
His wife alleged that he punched her twice in the face while she was in her car in Diyar Al Muharraq. She told the cops that she lost consciousness for around 10 minutes as a result of the “vicious” attack and that she was shifted to King Hamad University Hospital by ambulance.
The woman’s lawyer told DT News that the couple have an ongoing legal dispute before the court and that she was attacked while in a heated discussion with her husband over the details of the unresolved case.
Apparently, this is not the first time the wife complained about her husband and father of her only child physically assaulting her, as she told the police that such incidents occurred before. However, she is yet to be interrogated by the prosecution and examined by the coroner.
