BTC - Women Open Day Tennis
Manama : Under the patronage of Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Chairperson of the Women’s Sport Committee of the Olympic Committee and President of the Bahrain Table Tennis Federation, Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) organised a Women’s Open Day at its premises in Juffair on Saturday.
The aim of the event was to further promote female tennis for both women and girls in Bahrain which got underway following a welcoming speech from Dr. Amal Al Jowder, advisor to the Women’s Committee at BTC and Marwa Mohammed Ahmed, Head of the Ladies Committee at the club.
This open day featured fitness and warm-up exercises conducted by BTC coach Hanna Grace Espinosa from the Philippines who demonstrated to participants on the basic skills of tennis.
After play was concluded, a tea party was held with where the goals of the campaign and programme were discussed between organisers and participants and the best performers awarded with trophies..
A training programme is set to take place every Sunday and Thursday at the club along with ‘Open Days’ and will include training and competitions with the winners receiving promotional prizes.
