Bahrain, UK for greater ties
Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister yesterday said that Bahrain is committed to further enhancing its relations with the United Kingdom to protect security and stability across the region and globally.
Prince Salman was receiving a parliamentary delegation from the United Kingdom, led by Member of Parliament and House of Commons Defence Committee member, Leo Docherty MP, at Riffa Palace.
The Crown Prince highlighted that Bahrain and the UK have held deep-rooted and strong links for over two hundred years. Prince Salman also said that, during this time, Bahrain and the UK have developed and shared interests across a wide range of economic, cultural, political and defence-related issues
HRH the Crown Prince also recognised the active role of the UK Government in supporting the global fight against terrorism and preventing its illicit funding
His Excellency Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
