Rash driver arrested in Bahrain
Manama : A rash driver who recently appeared in a video escaping from traffic police has been arrested, confirmed Traffic Culture Director in the General Directorate of Traffic Lieutenant Colonel Osama Bahar.
The Lt. Col. said, “As shown in footage widely circulated on social media networks recently, a driver escaped from the scene while the traffic police patrol was attempting to stop him. The driver was arrested and the legal and administrational procedures were taken against him.”
The reckless driver was seen in the video while escaping in an SUV from traffic police who were in a car and on a motorcycle. He also caused a traffic accident during his escape.
“The law allows to impound the vehicle for certain periods. The arrest of the violator and the other legal producers are guaranteed by the Constitution,” the official explained.
He added, “We hope that, following these procedures, this driver will not repeat the wrong behaviours he committed. What happened wasn’t the culture of the people of Bahrain and was unacceptable and condemned by many.”
