Warehouse in Bahrain destroyed by fire
Manama : A major fire broke out in Mina Salman Industrial area in the south-eastern parts of the capital yesterday destroying a warehouse. No casualties were reported in the fire.
Civil Defence firefighters doused the fire after a few hours with the help of 23 fire brigades.
A huge smoke cloud covered the area and tails of smoke were visible from a distance of more than 15 kilometres.
Sources confirmed that the blaze erupted at the warehouses of Intercol. The cause of the fire is not yet ascertained.
Investigations are continuing to determine the cause of the fire, Civil Defence Directorate said in a statement issued following the incident.
The directorate said 73 firefighters and officers were involved in controlling the flames and carrying out the cooling operations.
The flames caused severe damages to the property and destroyed big parts of it. No further information on the losses were available and the company didn’t make any statements.
This is the third fire accident to be reported in warehouses in Mina Salman Industrial Area since the year 2016.
