Jonathan Jane lifts Bill Brien Trophy
Manama : The Bill Brien Trophy marked the opening first 18-hole competition of the new Awali Golf Club (AGC) season, with new member Jonathan Jane (44 stableford points) lifting the trophy, which featured 72 players participating in warm and breezy conditions.
Runner-up was Salem Khalifa Masood (42) on count-back from Eui Mo Koo with the top women’s scorer being Sarah Hobday (36).
The tournament director was Rashid Al Qutami, and prizes were presented by club vice-captain Serwin Rampersad.
Bill Brien was a member of AGC for many years and the club continues to sponsor the competition in his memory. He was a senior employee of the Kanoo Group and remembered fondly by many AGC members.
