Aryabhata overall champions at ISB Youth Festival ‘Tarang’

ManamaAryabhata House has emerged as the overall champions in the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Youth Festival Tarang 2017 which concluded last night with a glittering grand finale at the school campus in Isa Town.  

Aryabhata won the overall championship with 1767  points in a hotly contested youth festival. JC Bose House which got 1656 points is the runners-up. Vikram Sarabhai House with 1631 points bagged the third prize while CV Raman House which got 1597 points was placed in the fourth position in the five-day long youth festival. 

Indian School Class V student Krishna Rajeevan Nair who belongs to the CV Raman House won the Kalaratna award with 62 points. Senior section Humanities stream student Karthik Madhusoodanan won the Kalashri award with 69 points. Following students emerged as the group champions in different levels:  Sneha Suzanna Thomas (Level A - 44 Points),  Nandini Rajesh Nair ( Level B- 48 Points), Sneha Muralidharan ( Level C -52 points), Aditi Sahu (Level D- 45 Points).

Following Students won the House Star Awards: Gaurav Prakash (Vikram Sarabhai-48 Points), Vaishanv Unny (CV Raman-47 Points), Meenakshi Pramod Nambiar (JC Bose-48 Points), Devisree Sumesh (Aryabhata-48 Points).  

The overall championship trophies were distributed at a colourful, ceremony last night in the packed Jashanmal auditorium of the school. Indian School Principal VR Palaniswamy welcomed the gathering. ISB Chairman Prince S Natarajan presided the function. Chief Guests Ahlia University Founding President and Chairman Prof. Abdulla Y Al Hawaj, Ahlia University President Prof.Mansoor Ahmed Al Aali and  Al Haddad Motors Deputy Chairman Deema Rasool Al Haddad distributed the trophies to the champions. ISB Senior Section Vice Principal Anand R  Nair presented the youth festival report. 

ISB Secretary Dr Shemily P John, Vice Chairman Muhammed Iqbal, EC Member Finance SK  Ramachandran, Member IT Saji Antony, Member Academics Muhammad Khursheed Alam, Member Sports Jayafar Maidani and  Staff Representative Priya Laji were present. The Tarang 2017 is the biggest School Youth Festival in the Gulf countries held with the participation of over 3000 students in 156 events.
