Theatre festival workshop a success

Manama : Preparations are continued for the third edition of Khalid bin Hamad Youth Theatre Award Festival for National Clubs, Youth Centers and People with Disabilities.

Successfully organised for the third consecutive year under the patronage of  His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honourary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation and within the initiatives of His Highness, the festival will be held on October 5-21 at the Muharraq Model Youth Centre, with large and active youth participation from various leaders and representatives of national clubs, youth centers and people with disabilities.

The organising committee had announced earlier that this year’s edition will be held under the slogan #Let’s_Plant_A_Smile and will introduce several workshops and additional
activities.

As part of the festival’s organising committee’s plan, the third introductory workshop was organised on Sunday, with the aim to provide the necessary support to the participants in the festival by introducing them to different types of arts and means to overcome any obstacles that may face them in their careers.

It sheds light on the art of theatres, addressed and managed by renowned Bahraini Actor and Director Jama’an Al-Rowaiee and will continue until August 30.

The workshop focused on several factors that would contribute to the success of any play, including motion expression, voice control, and harmony between actors, improvising and difference in performance.

Al-Rowaiee confirmed that the participants in the workshop will be granted an opportunity to perform a special show on the side-lines of the festival.
