Manama Arrangements are in full swing for the upcoming Energy Investment Forum and Exhibition, STEEB 2017, to be held in Bahrain from September 17 to 19, said Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr Abdulhussain Mirza yesterday

“The event will showcase the latest developments in solar energy, renewable energy and technology and compare them with other sources of energy and the environment,” said Dr Abdulhussain Mirza.

Experts working in the field of energy, investment institutions interested in financing the projects, manufacturers, research institutions and universities, along with representatives from the United Nations, diplomatic missions, chambers of commerce and industry of the GCC and other Arab countries will participate in the conference.

Thanking the companies, ministries and agencies involved in sponsoring the event, the Minister said that their support would enable owners of small and medium enterprises to identify energy alternatives.

“Solar based factory roofs, parking lots and other facilities would contribute to reducing the pressure on traditional sources of energy,” Dr Mirza said.

Explaining the role of Bahrain’s Sustainable Energy Unit (SEU), the Minister said that the unit is focussing on setting up and supporting sustainable energy projects, enhancing efficiency and supporting renewable energy initiatives by establishing and supporting specialized forums.

The work and responsibilities of the upcoming event have been assigned to the Arab Gateway Exhibition Center (AGE), led by its CEO, Amira El Hassan, in collaboration with SEU and Tamkeen.

In a statement, Al Hassan said the event programme would include technological aspects and investments in renewable energy.
