Bahrain Catalysts triumph
Manama : Bahrain Catalysts defeated Bahrain Disability Challenging Youth Society 4-3 with Abdulnasser Al Jazzaf scoring a hat-trick despite being on the losing side in the opening match of the Disabled Teams Competition of the Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) at the Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town.
In the second match, the Special Olympics Team beat the Friendship Society for the Blind 12-0, while Bahrain Deaf Society and the Disability team played out a 2-2 draw and Bahrain Deaf Society edged the Hearing Disabilities team 1-0.
In other matches, Bahrain Catalysts Association lost their second match of the day 6-5 to the Deaf team and in the final match the Special Olympics team beat Bahrain Deaf Society 5-2.
The organising committee honoured the best player in each of the six matches.
Meanwhile, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities praised the competition and visited the venue of the league, watching the matches and meeting with the organising committee members, referees and players.
Also in attendance was Bahraini Paralympics champion Fatima Abdulrazzaq who commended Shaikh Khalid for instructing to include people with disabilities in the competitions of the league and allowing them to demonstrate their talents and develop their skills in a brotherly competitive atmosphere.
This tournament is being played under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities and organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting.
It started on July 24 and continues until September 14 and features 59 teams, divided into 36 youth centres teams, 9 unregistered clubs, 8 teams of people with disabilities institutions and 6 girls teams.
