Isa Town defeat Maqaba Club
Manama : Isa Town Youth Club defeated Maqaba Club 3-1 in the final match of Group 6 preliminaries of the Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
The man of the match was Hamad Abdulla of the Isa Town team.
In Group 7 action, Zallaq edged out Saar Club 2-1 with Atiya Mohammed the man of the match for the victors, while Al Junoob and Arad bid farewell to the competition with a thrilling 6-6, with Al Junoob’s Mohammed Al-Ameer adjudged as man of the match.
Group 8 saw Hamad Town defeat Al Eker Club 7-3 to advance to the Round of 16 with Hussain Kazerooni of the winners nominated as the man of the match.
In another match, Bu Quwah inspired by man of the match Mohammed Jawad also advanced to the next round after winning 3-1 against Al Maameer, who have been eliminated despite great support from its supporters.
The 16 qualifiers for the knockout stage have now been finalised and the next round gets underway tomorrow.
Meanwhile, competition in the disabled category begins today from 5pm with the participation of eight teams divided into two groups of four, playing six matches.
This tournament is being played under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities and organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting.
