GPIC honours students

Manama : Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) organised a ceremony to honour 280 students whose parents are employees of the company.

The event was held under the patronage of Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery, President of GPIC.  Also present, were the GPIC labour union Chairman, Yaqoob Yousef, union board members and parents of the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jawahery congratulated the students and their parents on their achievements and reiterated the company’s commitment to continue supporting children’s education in line with the directives of the Board of Directors under the Chairmanship of Dr Ahmed Al Sharyan. 

In his address, the President urged them to follow the path towards excellence to secure their future and contribute directly to the development of Bahrain. He said the leadership is keen to develop the human capital through education and added that the GPIC Education Programme looks at fulfilling the company’s social responsibility towards the community.

Dr Jawahery said the Crown Prince International Scholarship Programme gives outstanding students the opportunity to continue their education in the world’s most prestigious universities and that creates a generation of knowledge and competence.

Dr Jawahery called on the students to emulate the role of their parents to continue success and excellence. He also called on them to follow the example of GPIC, a company that has made a name for itself as being amongst the best in the world.He thanked the students for their efforts in achieving outstanding results and wished them every success in the future. He also thanked the Chairman and union board members for their initiative to prepare for and organize the ceremony and its cooperation with the company’s Management to meet the needs of employees.

Yousef, in his address, thanked the GPIC management and praised its interest in taking care of not only employees but also their families. He called upon the students to strive to achieve excellence every year and stressed on the importance of loyalty towards the country and its wise leadership.

GPIC annually honours outstanding students who obtain 90 per cent or more marks in their academics.
