Flashing traffic lights on way
Manama : Traffic signals in the Kingdom will soon be adjusted to flash five times before changing its colour to alert motorists, DT News has learnt.
The move follows a proposal by MP Mohammed Al Maarifi, which was approved by Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa during a Cabinet session.
The proposal suggests adjusting and updating traffic signals to “blink” several times before changing its colour to Red from Green.
The decision, according to Al Maarifi, will help reduce accidents and violations at crossroads in the Kingdom.
The MP, who also heads the Human Rights Committee in the House of Representatives, said: “Traffic lights should flash five times before changing its colour from Green to Yellow and to Red to notify the drivers that they have to stop soon.”
