Record victory for Al Junoob
Manama : Al Junoob Youth Centre produced a record-breaking score following a 17-0 victory against Al Jasrah Youth Centre in the latest Group 7 matches of the of the Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
Al Junoob striker Mohammed Salman was man of the match after netting an incredible eight goals, with the rest of the goals scored by four of his teammates.
In the second match in Group 7, Zallaq and Arad played out a 5-5 draw with Arad’s Saeed Aoun named man of the match.
In Group 8 action, Hamad Town and Al Maameer Club played out a 2-2 draw with the man of the match being the Al Maameer keeper Mohammed Abdulla, who netted the equaliser for his team in the final moments of the match.
Bu Quwah managed a 4-1 victory over Hamala in another Group 8 match with Mohammed Sadiq of the victors the man of the match.
The organising committee represented by Khalid 5 Director Ali Al-Arabi, in efforts to encourage local teams to take part in such competitions, honoured the Hamala and Al Jasrah teams as the latest awardees, which will continue until the final day of the preliminary stages of the league on Friday.
This tournament is being played under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities and organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting.
It started on July 24 and continues until September 14 and features 59 teams, divided into 36 youth centres teams, 9 unregistered clubs, 8 teams of people with disabilities institutions and 6 girls teams.
