Fifteen students join KHCB internship programme

ManamaAs part of its commitment to social responsibility, Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), one of the leading Islamic banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has recently welcomed 15 students from local universities into its annual internship program which provides students with practical training opportunities, acquainting them with the activities and operations of the bank’s various departments.

This initiative reflects the bank’s interest in preparing the next generation of employees to engage in the Islamic banking sector, contributing to its development. The two-month internship program provides students with the opportunity to learn about the Islamic banking system and the bank’s work environment by working closely with employees, gaining practical skills in addition to attending a number of educational lectures on the operation of different departments.

Tawfeeq Mohamed Bastaki, Acting CEO of KHCB, commented,  “We are delighted to welcome university students into our internship program, through which we aim to prepare them professionally before joining the labour market.  We at KHCB believe that training and continuous encouragement are the gateways to career professionalism and outstanding performance.”

He added: “ This program coincides with the bank’s social responsibility of supporting educational institutions by providing training opportunities to university students who are on the cusp of graduation, to play a key role in the qualification of a generation that contributes to the economic development of the Kingdom.”
