Colombo : India beat Sri Lanka by an innings and 53 runs on day four of the second Test to take the three-match series in Colombo on Sunday.

Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets to help bowl out Sri Lanka for 386 during their follow-on in the second session. Dimuth Karunaratne top-scored with a defiant 141.

India lead the series 2-0, with the final match slated to begin on August 12 in Pallekele.
