Al Hala brawl: Several arrested

Manama : Police on Thursday arrested several Bahraini youngsters in connection with an attack at the Al Hala Sports Club. 

The suspects, according to the police, broke into the Al Hala Sports Club and attacked players and employees there with planks and sticks, on Wednesday. 

Sources confirmed to DT News that national coach Abdulnasser Hassan also the assistant coach of Al Hala football team was injured in the attack.

He was rushed to the hospital after suffering a deep cut underneath his eyes in the attack. 

A CCTV footage of the attack obtained by DT News shows several miscreants fleeing the club after attacking players and the coach there. 

According to sources, the brawl was apparently caused by a youngster who had issues with one of the players there.

“He gathered his friends and reached the club located in the southern parts of Muharraq and attacked and injured the players and the coach who were engaged in their evening training,” the source informed DT News.

Chief Prosecutor of Muharraq Governorate Prosecution Abdulla Al Dossary confirmed the arrest of the suspects and said that the case has been referred to the court.

Al Dossary said that the arrests were made after reviewing the footages from the security cameras at the club and interrogating several people.
