AMA International University holds annual Career Day

ManamaAMA International University Bahrain  (AMAIUB) held its annual Career Day at the InterContinental Regency Hotel in Manama yesterday.

Held under the patronage of Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan, under the theme “Your Career is Your Future”, the fair included a Career Advising Seminar which focused on giving significant tips to job seekers.

The resource persons, who are industry experts, discussed the importance of choosing the right career and tips on how jobseekers should package themselves to fit in the available positions.

The activity was also highlighted by the Career Fair wherein participating companies, institutions, organisations  and ministries, accepted CVs  and conducted on-the-spot interviews for full-time and part-time employment, and training  and internship opportunities.

The career day this year further aimed to assist students in the development of their career directions and in the fulfillment of their professional success, introduce them to various programmes and options available in different companies and institutions, link them with employers in the job market,  open communication channels with them and stimulate and promote the local economic and employment climate of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Conducted annually, the AMAIUB career day’s objectives are in consonance with the university’s mission to produce competent, professional, and entrepreneurial graduates imbued with life-long learning, and professional and ethical values.

“The university prepares its students to the world of work through the delivery of relevant, innovative, and quality education. Thus, AMAIUB graduates become the employers of choice not  only in the Kingdom of Bahrain but also regionally and globally,” the university said in a statement issued yesterday. 

Labour and Social Development Assistant Undersecretary Dr. Mohammed Alansari led the ribbon  cutting during the opening ceremony.  He was joined by other ministry officials and representatives of the Higher Education Council of Education Ministry. Ambassador of the Philippines Alfonso Ver, AMAIUB Board of Trustees Chairman Bashar Al Mutawa and Bahrain Institute of Public Administration Director General Dr. Raed Bin Shams.
