Bahraini forces liberate Yemeni village

Manama : Bahraini forces participating in the military operations to restore legitimacy in Yemen have liberated one of the most prominent districts in Yemen.

According to a report aired by Al Hadath news channel on Thursday, the Special Forces of Bahrain Royal Guard was the first to set foot in Sirwah district, also known as the gate of the Yemeni capital Sana’a, after months of besiege.

The Bahraini troops are fighting alongside the Arabian Coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen, led by Saudi Arabia, since 2015. Speaking in an interview aired by the channel, a Bahraini captain announced the liberation of the Al Makhdara village in Sirwah.

“I congratulate the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of liberating Al Makhdara, the first village in the besieged Sirwah district,” Captain Omar of the Bahrain Royal Guard Special Force Unit said.  “As Bahraini forces, we are fighting along with the Arab Coalition under the leadership of Saudi Arabia. Our duties are to support legitimacy, defeat the enemy and return all what have been taken by them, with force if not peacefully,” he explained.

Captain Omar clarified that the Bahraini forces in Yemen are working among four branches tasked with battle, planning, training and relieve.

“The Bahraini forces have high spirits. Bahraini soldiers proved their abilities and strength in battlefields. We promise His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa that we will be good representatives to serve his efforts to serve the nation of Islam and support its causes,” he added.
