Brajkovic finishes 29th for Bahrain

ManamaBahrain’s Merida Pro Cycling Team rider, Janez Brajkovic of Slovenia was classified in 29th place yesterday as he completed the 12th stage of the 104th Tour de France in six hours and 7 seconds from the city of Pau to Peyragudes over 214.5km on a tough mountainous course.

Brajkovic was 10 minutes and 29 seconds behind the stage winner, Frenchman Romain Bardet (5:49:38) of the AG2R La Mondiale Team which saw 179 of the original 198 riders in action.

Bahrain’s other seven riders were classified as - Tsgabu Grmay (65th, Ethiopia, +19:47), Ondrej Cink (72nd, Czech Republic, +20:08), Grega Bole (82nd, Slovenia, +20:08), Javier Moreno (93rd, Spain, +24:05), Yukiya Arashiro (128th, Japan, +27:20), Sonny Colbrelli (164th, Italy, +34:39) and Borut Bozic (165th, Slovenia, +34:39).

The tour resumes today with the 13th stage taking the remaining (179) riders in the second tough Pyrenees Mountains stage from Saint-Girons to Foix over 101km.
