Double success for Indian Rising Star
Manama : Zeta Indian Rising Star enjoyed double success in winning the BCL Diamond League T20 and Knockout finals at the Awali Oval.
In the Diamond League T20 final, Indian Rising Stars defeated Pristine CC by 30 runs after scoring 191 for six in its 20 overs with Karthik (76) top scoring with good support from Arun (33), while Riad (two for 36) was the best of the bowlers.
In reply, Pristine fell short after finishing on 161 for eight after its 20 overs despite a fine knock by opener Asim (69) as Karthik (four for 30) in four overs and the pick of the bowlers helped his side to victory.
In the Knockout final, Indian Rising Star beat Awali Gents by 38 runs despite being dismissed for 188 with the main scorers being opener Romy (75) and Sreejesh (36) with Shehzad (five for 23) the pick of the bowlers.
Awali Gents were restricted to 150 for eight in its 20 overs with top scorers being Ajit (40) and Niket (34) with Joby (two for 25) the best of the bowlers.
