New president nominated to head Kingdom University
Manama : A new president has been nominated to head Kingdom University, which has received its final warning from Education Ministry last week, over safety related violations.
This came as the ministry announced yesterday that the Higher Education Council General Secretariat received the nomination from the university.
The ministry said that the nomination comes within the concern of university’s board of trustees and its commitment to the higher education law and regulations, as well as removing all violations and to develop its services.
As reported on Monday, the ministry issued a final warning against Kingdom University that it will be closed if it doesn’t rectify its violations within seven days.
The ministry pointed to some safety related violations, such as blocking fire exits and irregularly storing items inside the university.
“This warning comes within the responsibilities of the Higher Education Council General Secretariat to ensure students’ safety and to provide them with the appropriate educational environment,” the ministry said earlier.
