Bahrain Merida rider achieves second place in Slovenia

Manama : Slovenian National Road Race Championship was held in Kranj, Slovenia, today on a challenging circuit of 16 km (10 laps, 160 km total).
Due to the rain the course was very slippery and because of that Jani crashed during the first lap. He was forced to abandon, but luckily without any serious injuries. After 25 km 7 men went in the breakaway, including our Grega Bole.

"We were the strongest and found immediately a good collaboration. I was looking for the victory, so I tried to attack many times in the final and on the last climb I went solo, trying to avoid the sprint. Unfortunately they caught me with almost 2 km to go and at the finish I could not compete with Mezgec, who is faster than me and moreover I had run out of energy".

"We did a good team work" said Sports Director Gorazd Stangelj "We can be happy, but we rode for the win, so it’s a bitter second place. Good is to see Bole in great form anyway. This is important ahead of the Tour de France."

Team BAHRAIN MERIDA has lined up six riders: Grega Bole, Borut Bozic, Janez Brajkovic, Luka Pibernik, David Per and Domen Novak.
