Warm welcome for KHK MMA team

ManamaSupreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar welcomed members of Bahrain’s Mixed Martial Arts team after their unprecedented achievement at the Asian Open Championship for Amateur Mixed Martial Arts.

The recently-concluded international event, organised by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) in Singapore saw Bahrain clinch one gold and three bronze medals.

In an official statement, Askar congratulated the team on this achievement in this first edition of the Asian Open Championships for Amateur MMA, expressing his pride at the outstanding result.

Askar noted results reflect the developed level of the Kingdom of Bahrain, thanks to the wise Bahraini sports leadership, which has led to various successes in recent times. BOC board member and Bahrain Table Tennis Association president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa said she is proud of the outstanding achievement by the team in this major international mixed martial arts event.

BOC board member and Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF) president Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat expressed pride for the remarkable efforts of the team members and stressed that he will continue to develop this sport to accomplish more success in upcoming championships, including the IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA, to be hosted by Bahrain in November.
