Bahrain in ILO body

ManamaBahrain has been elected  as a regular member to  the Governing Body of the International Labour (ILO) for the period 2017–20. The ILO governments group was elected on Monday at the United Nations Geneva-based premises during the ILO’s 106th Session on June 4-16. 

The achievement reflects the growing trust in Bahrain internationally as well as the recognition of its efforts by ILO member states in labour reforms. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on the occasion.

The minister extended congratulations to the Premier for Bahrain’s winning the regular membership at ILO’s governing body, noting that the achievement reflects the International Community’s appreciation of prestigious status enjoyed by Bahrain under His Majesty’s Reform Project.
