Target CC lift Indian Club softball cricket trophy

ManamaIn a low-scoring Grand Final on Friday evening, Target CC beat Chak de India by four wickets to win The Indian Club Indian Expatriates Seven-a-Side Softball Cricket Tournament 2017. 

Batting first, Chak de India were bowled out for 27 in 5.2 overs and Target reached the target in scoring 30 for two in five overs.

Earlier in the semi-finals, Target were three-wicket winners against Central Cafe who were restricted to 30 for three in six overs then the former reached the target in scoring 31 for three in five overs.

The other semi-final saw Chak de India beat Manglore Boys by four wickets with the latter finishing on 31 for five in six overs, then Chak de India with a delivery remaining reached the target in scoring 32 for two in 5.5 overs.

Members of The Indian Club Executive Committee, led by Cassius Pereira, The Indian Club President, were on hand to present trophies and medals to the leading teams, including cash prizes of U$300 to Target CC for winning the tournament and U$200 to Chak de India for finishing as
runners-up.

Individual awards were presented to Target CC’s Arun Shetty as Player of the Tournament, Vishwas Subramanya of Chak de India as the Tournament’s Leading Batsman and Renjith of Target CC as the Tournament’s Leading Bowler; Arun Shetty also took the Player of the Grand Final award.

Other scores (Quarter finals): Manglore Boys 38/4 in 5.2 overs bt Smashers 37/5 in 6 overs by 2 wickets. Central Café 29/1 in 5.1 overs bt Jai Karnataka 25 all out in 5.3 overs by 5 wickets. Target CC 30/0 in 4.1 overs bt Spartans 29/5 in 6 overs) by 6 wickets. Chak de India 36/1 in 4.1 overs bt Riffa CC 34/4 in 6 overs by 5 wickets.
