Feng takes fourth place at the queen stage of Tour of Japan

ManamaTeam Bahrain-Merida Pro-Cycling teams’ Chun Kai Feng finished fourth at the Izu queen stage of the Tour of Japan (TOJ) yesterday, which comprises 12.2km x 10 laps in the lumpy Shizuoka Prefecture, with a total elevation gain of 3,750m, this is definitely the hardest stage of TOJ, and also the last chance of team leaders to fight for their green jersey.

With four breakaways in the front, Chun Kai Feng was leading the chase with the blue jersey Marco Canola (Nippo-Vini Fantini), and the duo successfully caught two riders before the finish, thanks to the decisive move, Feng took an impressive fourth in Izu, our best young rider Domen Novak secured his title in the young rider classification.

“I am happy for keeping the white jersey and for the fourth place for Feng. This is good for team; at the start of the race, I was not feeling good, but now, I have good feelings.” Our best young rider Domen Novak attacked the small group into the finish, the promising Slovenian took eighth, which is another top 10 performance for Team Bahrain-Merida.
