Mind your own business, FM tells Iran’s Khamenei

ManamaBahrain’s Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has asked Iran’s supreme leader to “mind his own business” and not to interfere in domestic affairs.

In his response to the latest statements made by Ali Khamenei about the situations in Bahrain and the recent security operation targeting terrorists gathered in Diraz, Shaikh Khalid tweeted, “Bahrain and its people are fine. The leader of the Iranian Revolution should keep quiet and keep his evil away.”

The minister shared a short video clip on his official Twitter page showing Khamenei commenting on the recent events and praising controversial religious cleric Isa Qassim.

As reported last week, security forces dispersed an illegal gathering near Isa Qassim’s residence in Diraz, where five people were killed and over 30 policemen were injured.

Shaikh Khalid also tweeted that Khamenei should pay attention to the endless issues his country is facing and leave the Kingdom of Bahrain alone.

Iranian officials often interfere in the internal affairs of GCC states, especially Bahrain.

However, it’s not common for the Supreme Leader to appear on screens with such statements.
