Premier lauds US  policies in region

ManamaHis Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has lauded the changes in US policies towards the region and President Donald Trump’s understanding of the situation.

The statement came as HRH the Prime Minister received here a delegation from the Middle East Policy Council (MEPC) in Washington, led by Council Member Ronald Neumann yesterday. The new vision and understanding will open up a new phase full of optimism and cooperation, HRH Premier said, adding that everyone is looking forward to the outcomes of President Trump’s upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia and expects them to have positive impacts on the Arab and Islamic worlds.

“What we see today is that America, under the leadership of President Trump, has developed a better understanding and a readiness to cooperate more, which has triggered more optimism in the region,” he said. The Prime Minister lauded the Bahraini-US relations of friendship and cooperation, and the two countries’ keenness on ensuring their steady progress.

HRH Premier praised the role by MEPC to develop diplomatic work, expressing desire to benefit from its role.

The Premier discussed with the visiting delegation issues and topics of common interest.
