News Breaker rides to win

Manama : The pre-race favourite News Breaker owned by Al Nasseriyeh, trained by Allan Smith and ridden by Brett Doyle won the sixth and richest race for the Owners Cup for locally bred three years and upwards over 2,000 metres and worth BD6,000 on the 25th and concluding meeting of the season yesterday at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.

Coming in second place a length behind was the second favourite Knight and Day, also owned by Al Nasseriyeh, trained also by Allan Smith and ridden by Ahmed Makki, with third place a further half length behind was Call A Friend owned by Al Mallah Syndicate, trained by Ramzi Al Baqlawi and ridden by Saleem Ghuloom.

A further half length behind in fourth place was the third favourite Snake Eagle owned by Al Nasseriyah, trained by Allan Smith and ridden by Abdul Rahim Jassim.
