BRAVE : Next stop Kazakhstan

ManamaKazakhstan will host the sixth edition of the Brave Fighting Championship, on April 29 at Halyk Arena in the ancient capital of Almaty.

This was confirmed yesterday by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Honourary President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), Founder of the Khalid bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts Organisation (KHK MMA). 

“We have directed the Brave Combat Federation to hold the sixth championship in Kazakhstan in order to enter the Eurasian continent,” said Shaikh Khalid adding that its geographical location on the world map is a gateway to the Asian and European continents. 

“This will enable us to spread more widely across the two continents, especially with Kazakhstan, the Asian-European country,” he added. 

Kazakhstan will be BRAVE’s fourth international platform, following its first destination of Brazil in South America and then its return to the Asian continent through UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi, before concluding its third stop in the city of Mumbai, India for BRAVE 5.

The fifth edition of the BRAVE Championship featured a white weapon display presented before Shaikh Khalid which is part of the traditional military displays connected to the history of India.

British fighter Carl Booth succeeded in beating his Algerian rival Tahar Hadbi in the main event following a tie between them during the three rounds of confrontation, but the decision of the judging panel crowned him victor of the fight.

In other action, the confrontation between Indian fighter Abdul Muneer and his Canadian counterpart Mangat was extraordinary, and many held their breath until the last round of the game, with both fighters presenting a strong level of performance and which forced the judging panel to decide on the winner. The result was in favour of the Canadian fighter, who emerged with a valuable win in this championship.

In another bout, the judging panel’s decision saves fighter Jakub Kowalewicz from a loss, after he was just about to fall before of the fighter Alex Da Silva, but the balance of this confrontation changed after the panel granted victory to Jakub, who stood up to the last round and tried during the fight to resist the competing fighter.

A number of Bollywood actors and actresses attended the Brave event fights which was watched by 53 countries across the world and transmitted by OSN, CBN, ABS MYX TV of America, CLARO TV and COMBATE of Brazil.

The organisers also promoted the World Amateur Championships which will be hosted by Bahrain in November by printing the logo of the championship within the combat ring.
