RCSI Bahrain launches 'Future Doctors' roadshow
Manama : The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain) hosted its inaugural ‘Future Doctors’ Roadshow event this week at the Zayed University Convention Centre in Academic City, Dubai.
45 students from 16 high schools in Abu Dhabi and Dubai attended the two-day event, aimed to introduce participants to the ‘life of a student at RCSI Bahrain’ and the ‘life of a doctor’.
RCSI Bahrain CEO, Stephen Harrison-Mirfield and Director of Admissions, Dr Declan Gaynor gave an introduction to the university and the medical programmes it offered.
Interactive workshops in ultrasound and communication skills and a screening of a real-life laparoscopic gallbladder removal procedure was also organised for the participants.
An open question-and-answer session was also held and the participants were presented with certificates to acknowledge their contribution to the programme.
