'Role of youth vital for Kingdom’s progress'

Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister welcomed this year’s recipients of the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP), at Riffa Palace yesterday.

The Crown Prince highlighted the pivotal role Bahrain’s youth play in driving sustainable development and in helping to secure the country’s prosperous future. The Crown Prince also highlighted that the continued success of Bahrain’s youth is one of the many achievements of the Kingdom’s ongoing development programme led by His Majesty King Hamad.

Speaking on the important role of the CPISP, the Crown Prince stressed that the programme, now in its 18th edition, continues to deliver educational opportunities for exceptional Bahraini students. The Crown Prince went on to highlight that this was a proud moment which marks the beginning of a promising future for the CPISP students, as they prepare for an academic career in world-class institutions. 

The Crown Prince expressed his gratitude to all the organisations that continue to support the work and objectives of the CPISP, and extended his congratulations to the students for meeting the rigorous standards of the application process for the Scholarship Program.

The Crown Prince extended his thanks and appreciation to the staff of the CPISP, who play an important role liaising with renowned international universities and supporting the students from their enrolment through to graduation.

CPISP scholarship recipients for 2017

The Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) has announced the winners of its 2017 scholarships, who make up the Program’s 18th Group of scholars, and who include the following students:

  •  Abdulla Ebrahim Janahi / St. Christopher’s School

  •  Shaikha Lulwa Bint Mohamed Bin Ali Al Khalifa / Ibn Khuldoon National School

  •  Noora Khaled Al Hashimi / Bahrain Bayan School

  •   Eyad Nabeel Al Moamen / Al Hidaya Al Khalifiya Secondary Boys School

  •  Khaled Kamal Ajaj / East Riffa Secondary Boys School

  •  Hasan Borham Hamadto / Muharraq Secondary Boys School

  •  Zahra Saeed Al Basri / Khawla Secondary Girls School

  •  Batool Saeed Taraif / Jidhafs Secondary Girls School

  •  Ghadeer Mohamed Al Jabal / Omaima Bint Al Noaman Secondary Girls School

The 2017 scholarship recipients were selected among 360 Bahraini applicants from governmental and private schools in and outside of Bahrain who met the Program’s qualifying application criteria.  

The final selection criteria included their Grade Point Average, as well as the results of the IELTS and SAT examinations, leadership training, and the Critical Thinking course, which were organized by the CPISP as part of the candidacy training last year.

The CPISP gives its scholarship recipients the opportunity to choose their own fields of study from international universities of their choice that they gain acceptance to.  

The Program has awarded a total of 166 university scholarships to outstanding Bahraini students since its establishment in 1999 by HRH Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
