Kingdom to boost ties with Malaysia

ManamaHis Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, received Datuk Mohammed Anuar Taib, Executive Vice President of Petronas and CEO of Upstream, at Riffa Palace yesterday. 

During the meeting, His Royal Highness highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to developing the Kingdom’s energy sector in support of efforts to strengthen industry and economic diversification across the region. 

In boosting the Kingdom’s energy sector, Bahrain will be exposed to various markets, creating new opportunities to strengthen the national economy, the Crown Prince highlighted.

His Royal Highness outlined that the Kingdom of Bahrain seeks to expand its economic relations with the friendly Asian countries, particularly the Kingdom of Malaysia, and to achieve new levels of cooperation that reflect the depth of Bahraini-Malaysian relations. His Royal Highness went on to note that Bahrain will continue to explore new opportunities for bilateral cooperation with Malaysia, especially within the energy sector.

His Royal Highness underscored Bahrain’s eagerness to continue working with international companies, which allows the Kingdom to draw on extensive experience in the oil and gas sector to help achieve its development goals. 

Datuk Mohammed Anuar Taib expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness for the opportunity to meet with him, praising the Kingdom’s ambitions to increase cooperation with Malaysian companies based on the distinguished relations between the two countries.
