RCSI Bahrain celebrates White Uniform Ceremony
Manama : Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain) organised its annual White Uniform Ceremony on Monday where 68 nursing students were presented with uniforms and entered clinical training.
The event, attended by students’ family members and staff, was addressed by RCSI Bahrain’s Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery, Professor Seamus Cowman, who highlighted the professional roles and responsibilities of nurses, while stressing the code of conduct for nursing in Bahrain.
Head of Nursing at King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH), Dr Fairouz Alhourani and Year 3 nursing student, Mohamed Jawhar were guest speakers for the event.
The ceremony concluded with the students’ recital of the professional declaration, through which they vowed to maintain professional attitudes and behaviours in work and relationships with classmates, teachers, patients and the community.
This is the 11th batch of nursing students to have entered the undergraduate-nursing programme at RCSI Bahrain since its launch.
