New Horizon School celebrates Earth Day

Manama: The New Horizon School celebrated the Earth Day with a view to enhancing awareness of an environment friendly life and to demonstrate support for environmental protection. 

The theme of the Earth Day Project was ‘Nurture Nature and Save Our Future’ with the aim of imparting knowledge to inspire action in defence of environmental protection. 

Rabiha Abdul Jabbar Al Orayedh from EWA was the Chief Guest of the day. In her address she laid emphasis on the importance of saving energy, reducing wastage of water, etc.

Students from KG to class VI presented skits and songs relating to the theme ‘Mother Earth’.

Razan Mustafa Al Salman prepared a power point presentation on reduction of heavy electricity and water consumption.

Principal Nirmala Jose focused on Organic Farming in the kitchen balcony. 

The unique feature of the day was a teacher who distributed money plant to 27 students of her Class for a free take-home experience for the child’s family. The Kindergarten children planted saplings in their farmland.  The other children brought saplings and seeds for the School Garden in order to promote horticulture farm in the school premises.

A spot quiz was also conducted for the students on Save the Earth Project 2017.

The Vice-Principals spoke on the importance of such informative, entertaining, and educational events in creating functional citizens of a country.
