Cabinet condemns terror attacks in Egypt

ManamaThe Cabinet yesterday condemned, in the strongest terms, the terror attacks in Egypt that targeted the Mar Girgis Coptic Church in Tanta and Saint Mark’s church in Alexandria.

Offering condolences to the victims’ relatives and wishing the wounded a speedy recovery, the Cabinet said that terrorism will neither succeed in undermining the robust national unity in Egypt, nor will it be able to dent the spirit of tolerance and co-existence that distinguishes Egyptians. The weekly Cabinet meeting was chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. “Terrorism will also fail to sow the seeds of division and sectarian strife in Egypt, given its people’s awareness and cohesion,” the Cabinet said, reiterating Bahrain’s solidarity with Egypt’s leadership, government and people in confronting such heinous crimes that are forbidden by all religions.

Honour hailed

The Cabinet members welcomed the “Development Work Shied” conferred on HRH Prime Minister by the Arab League.  On behalf of the Cabinet, Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa extended congratulations to HRH Prime Minister for the well-deserved Arab honour conferred on him in recognition of his great contributions to progress in the Kingdom, as well as his pioneering role in the comprehensive modernisation, renaissance and sustainable development in Bahrain in various fields.

HRH Premier credited the Bahraini people for the honour, noting that it was their determination and dedication that made the Kingdom a symbol of development and progress, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
