Wrong details stamped on passport pages

Manama : The bizarre case of two Indian nationals who got their passports stamped with other people’s details on visa pages was solved in two days.
Jithin Kumar and Sumith were the passport holders who had wrong details stamped on their passports.
Kumar had details of another Indian national pasted on to his passport while Sumith had details of Kumar posted on his.
The duo had submitted their passports to IVS Global Services for renewing them. Sumith said he checked the passport immediately after receiving it from the office and noticed the error.
“Jithin collected his passport first after the renewal, and I collected mine after a while. Soon after it came into my hand, I checked it and found the error. It was Jithin’s details that were entered on my page. I was shocked but  I immediately notified them, and I called Jithin to inform the situation,” said Sumith.
According to Kumar, the details entered on his visa page was that of someone else’s. “Initially I was furious, I had to travel to Europe urgently. But I am glad  because the issue was set quickly.  If there had been a delay or a complication, my travel would have been affected,” he said.
A senior manager from IVS Global Services clarified that the mistake was not on their part. “We do not stamp the visa pages. This is the responsibility of the Immigration office and this looks like a mistake from their part,” the official said.
