A’ali flower show to bloom from today
Manama : The first edition of the flower show opens its doors today in Hoorat A’ali.
Locally produced flowers will go on display in the exhibition, which is assumed to be the largest of its kind in Bahrain.
The producers will exhibit high quality flowers, which include the special ‘Al Ward Al-Muhammadi’ orchids and chrysanthemums.
Undersecretary for Agriculture and Marine Resources Shaikh Khalifa bin Isa Al-Khalifa said, “The importance of the exhibition is to highlight the cost of these types of flowers running into millions of dollars when imported from other countries.”
He paid tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) for her support in the venture. He also underlined the efforts undertaken by the Department of Agriculture in achieving self-sufficiency and not relying on import for flowers.
