Enrique Iglesias to perform at Bahrain International Circuit

ManamaThe Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), the Home of Motorsport in the Middle East, has announced that the biggest Latin recording artist in the history of music, Enrique Iglesias, will be performing at the 2017 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, set to take place from April 14 to 16 at BIC in Sakhir.

The Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, actor and record producer will be taking to the stage on Saturday (April 15) night.

Enrique is already a stellar cast among the internationally renowned artists who are a part of the off-track entertainment programme of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Electronic dance music icon Steve Aoki also will perform on Saturday while other artists including superstar DJs Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike and MATTN will be on stage on Friday.

Saturday mega concerts follow Formula 1 Qualifying. All those with tickets to the Bahrain Grand Prix will be able to enjoy the show, said BIC in its announcement yesterday.

Enrique’s global popularity is undeniable, and he is one of the biggest artists ever to grace the stage at the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

The 41-year-old has been celebrated with every award an artist can receive, including multiple Grammys, Billboard awards, World Music awards, American Music awards and many more, totaling over 200.

The son of legendary Spanish singer-songwriter Julio Iglesias, Enrique has sold more than 130 million albums worldwide, released 10 studio albums plus two greatest hit compilations, and is a multiplatinum artist in almost every country around the world. He has headlined 10 world tours to over 10 million fans throughout his career, having performed in literally every corner of the globe from New York to Sydney.

Enrique has 27 number one singles on the Billboard Latin Songs Chart as well as multiple ones across all the Billboard charts with a combined total of 105.

His most recent track, “Duele El Corazon”, got him his 14th number one Billboard Dance track, making him the king of the chart, beating out Michael Jackson for the most in Billboard history. His latest “Bailando”, (music video) has gained over 1.9 billion views on YouTube.

His first album, Enrique Iglesias (1995), sold more than a million copies in three months (it earned him his first gold record in Portugal in a mere seven days) and to date has sold more than six million worldwide. The second album, Vivir (1997), enjoyed global sales of more than five million discs and launched his first world tour, backed by sidemen for Elton John, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel.

In a mere three years, Enrique had sold more than 17 million Spanish-language albums, more than anyone else during that period.
