Bryan mesmerizes Bahrain

Manama : Strong winds and scattered rain didn’t dampen the spirits of many who showed up last night at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) to catch one of the biggest rock stars live in performance.  The buzz and anticipation was around for quite a while. Yes, Bryan Adams finally arrived and took Bahrain by storm, making yesterday one of the greatest nights of 2017.

While scheduled to begin at 8:30pm, the concert got delayed for about 20 minutes or so, however the Grammy Award winner quickly took control, charging the crowd as soon as he stepped onto the stage. Besides performing new singles from his latest album ‘Get Up’, Adams also reminisced his early success as he plucked the strings of his guitar and took the microphone, tuning to his age old hits like “Here I Am”, “Everything I do”, “Summer of 69”, among others. With his distinctive musical style and vocals, Adams was in high spirits and encouraged audience participation, giving what would have been just another regular Monday, a very rocking conclusion. However what turned out to be the biggest element of surprise were the solo guitar performances of ‘Keith Douglas Scott’. A Canadian guitar player who first collaborated with then unknown Bryan Adams in the 1970’s. They have been together on stage ever since.

Held in collaboration with Alive entertainment, the concert was highlighted by the singer’s sincere and unapologetic drive to rock his fans. “I don’t think I have enjoyed this much in a long time. He is a maestro whose songs are evergreen, continually amusing old and new generations,” spectator, Shaun Lane shared with DT News.  The man of many talents, Bryan Adams has been actively present at the music scene since the seventies, and with his energized performance last night, he shows no plans of slowing down as the night of music continued for hours. The concert kick-started the Race Fever, a month long programme of exciting events organised by BIC as part of the lead-up to the 2017 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, happening April 14 to 16 at BIC.
