Panels ready for Indian Club Bahrain's election

Manama: Panels are ready for the election to the new Executive Committee of the Indian Club Bahrain, one of the oldest, largest and the most active clubs in the Kingdom. There are two panels on the fray for the 12-member new executive committee for the year 2017-2019 to which election will be held next month. The exact date of election is yet to be announced. Of the two panels, ‘Team Revival’ is led by Cassius Pereira and ‘The Challengers’ is led by Abraham John.

Following are the candidates for Team Revival: Cassius Pereira(President), Thankachan Vithayathil (Vice President),Rixon Rebello(General Secretary), Varghese Varghese –Siby (Asst. General Secretary), Anil Kumar (Treasurer), K.P Rajan (Asst. Treasurer), R Swaminathan (Entertainment Secretary), Simin Sasi(Asst. Entertainment Secretary), Joseph Joy (Indoor Games Secretary), Vishwas Subramanya(Cricket Secretary), Hari Unnithan (Badminton Secretary –Unopposed), Dr John Chacko (Tennis Secretary-Unopposed).

Following are the candidates for The Challengers: Abraham John (President), Job MJ(General Secretary), Shankar Bharadwaj(Vice President), Sinto Antony (Asst. General Secretary), Chacko Joseph(Treasurer),Koshy George Eapen(Asst. Treasurer), Nanda Kumar (Entertainment Secretary), Senthil Kumar (Asst. Entertainment Secretary), John Deepak D’S (Sports Secretary-Cricket and Hockey), Vijay Noronha(Indoor Games Secretary).


The Indian Club-Bahrain is very much at the heart of the Indian expatriate community in the Kingdom and is regarded as the ‘mother’ of all the Indian clubs, associations and societies that have been formed to cater for the significant Indian population on the island. Anand Lobo is the current President of the Club.
