Bangladeshi man gets jail for assaulting cops
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced a Bangladeshi man to one year imprisonment for assaulting two on-duty police officers.
The defendant is reported to have assaulted the duo in Zallaq when they intervened to resolve a ruckus in the area.
The defendant was reportedly drunk, and he removed the shirt buttons of the officer before spitting on the second police officer, the court documents said.
The defendant was arrested and charged with assaulting the on-duty cops. The Court said in its ruling that the verdict was merciful.
