Man drowns near Sitra
Manama : The body of an Asian man, suspected to have been drowned, washed ashore on the western coastline of Sitra yesterday, Interior Ministry confirmed.
Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) Coordinator John Philip confirmed to DT News that the deceased is an Indian national identified as Puneeth Shivarama.
He also informed that “the Indian Embassy was notified of the incident and initial steps to repatriate the body were taken”.
“The body of the man washed ashore at around 10am. The coastguards and crime scene investigation teams cordoned off the area for around two hours,” eyewitnesses said.
