Indian expatriate’s role vital in progress: HM King

ManamaHis Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa commended the contribution of the Indian expatriate community and businessmen from the State of Kerala to Bahrain’s development, progress and prosperity.

“The decades-long outstanding relations have always been based on mutual respect, cooperation and joint coordination in all fields”, he said while receiving at Al-Safriya Palace, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

HM the King reviewed with Chief Minister Vijayan long-standing friendship and ways of expanding economic, investment, and trade and tourism cooperation between the two countries.

King Hamad also highlighted the strategic position of both Bahrain and India as vital routes for international trade exchanges.

He underlined the steadily-growing trade relations between Bahrain and India since early 1900s, adding that trade ties have since developed and prospered.

HM the King recalled his historic successful visit to India in 2014, which yielded positive results and a string of memoranda of understanding which, he said, further consolidated joint cooperation in all fields.

He hailed the landmark trade and industrial strides achieved by India which is considered at present one of the economic heavyweights in Asia and the world.

Chief Minister Vijayan, on his part hailed HM King’s dedicated efforts to bolster bilateral relations, lauding the care which the Indian expatriate community finds in Bahrain.
